“This is not going to end well,” Lacy murmured, lying next to Maggie in the bushes as they readied crossbows. “Molly really went to town on the defenses this week,”

The daughter of Apollo grimaced, shifting on her stomach as she narrowed her eyes, watching as someone ran towards their borders. “I know. She's been working on that trap for days, just for-”

“Liam,” they said at the same time, sighing heavily.

The blonde in question was actually the figure running over the borders, two others at his sides. “Liam, you really think it's a good idea for you to cross the borders? We're against Cabin 9 tonight, you do realize-” James said, as Liam led him through the brush.

The blonde snorted and twisted his wrist, spinning his sword, “It'll be fine James, what's the worst that can happen?”

“Molly could kill you,” Cale said mildly, glancing at his friend and grinning manically. “It's not out of character for her y'know. She's pissed at you.”

“I know,” Liam muttered, looking around suspiciously. “You guys think we should have run into some traps or guards or-”

“Us?” Lacy asked, springing out of the brush with Maggie, both girls firing their crossbows. With a yelp, all the boys raised their shields, except for James, who was tackled to the ground by Liam, and then-

“Shit,” Liam yelled, as they tumbled down into a metal trap in the ground. “This is Molly's work, I'm sure of it,” he muttered, as James tapped the walls experimentally.

“Liam,” he said warningly, “These walls aren't...something's in them.”

The blonde narrowed his eyes, looking up at the light at the top of the hole, where his ex-girlfriend was staring down impassively at him. “Enjoy,” she said simply, hitting a button, causing the walls to spring to life.

James jumped back as the walls wriggled, breaking down into pieces, and then smaller pieces. “Liam, what's going on?” the blind boy asked, gripping his friend as the blonde began to panic.

“Sh-she-” he panted, looking around as he felt the minuscule metallic legs crawl up his body, “Th-the walls they were- they were-”

“What Liam? What the hell are you talking about?”

Molly looked over the edge of the hole again, grinning at her friends. Well, friend and ex-boyfriend. She felt bad that James was mixed up in this, but still.

“Spiders boys,” she said with a smirk, “Miniature, metallic spiders. Have a nice night.”

She turned and walked away, ignoring her friends' stares, and listening to Liam's shrill screaming, a smile on her face.
